Description

This decadent Steak & Truffle Gouda Pasta Bake combines tender seared steak pieces with a creamy truffle Gouda and mozzarella cheese sauce. Tossed with perfectly cooked pasta and baked until golden and bubbly, this savory dish delivers a rich and comforting meal ideal for a special dinner or weekend treat.

Ingredients

Pasta & Steak

  • 8 ounces pasta of choice (penne, rigatoni, or fusilli)
  • 1 pound steak (cut into bite-sized pieces; sirloin or ribeye recommended)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for searing the steak and sautéing aromatics)

Aromatics & Sauce

  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup truffle Gouda cheese (shredded)
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Garnish

  • 0.25 cup fresh parsley (chopped)

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your chosen pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Sear Steak: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add bite-sized steak pieces and sear for 3-4 minutes until browned but not fully cooked through. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, add diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until translucent. Add minced garlic and sauté for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Prepare Cheese Sauce: Reduce heat to medium-low. Pour in heavy cream and stir to combine with onions and garlic. Gradually add shredded truffle Gouda and mozzarella cheese, stirring continuously until melted and smooth. Season sauce with salt, black pepper, and optional crushed red pepper flakes.
  5. Combine Steak & Pasta: Return seared steak to skillet and stir to coat with cheese sauce. Add cooked pasta and toss gently until evenly mixed.
  6. Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Transfer pasta mixture into a baking dish and spread evenly. Bake uncovered for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  7. Garnish & Serve: Remove from oven and sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the top for color and freshness. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use sirloin or ribeye steak for the best texture and flavor.
  • The crushed red pepper flakes are optional for those who prefer some heat.
  • For a more intense truffle flavor, add a few drops of truffle oil to the cheese sauce.
  • Ensure not to overcook the steak during searing to keep it tender after baking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven.
