Ingredients
Ingredients
- 2 Small Lemons
- 3 Tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 ½ Cups Water
- Ice, as needed
Instructions
- Wash Lemons: Thoroughly wash both lemons to remove any dirt or residues before using.
- Quarter Lemons: Cut the lemons into quarters and place them in a container suitable for muddling and shaking.
- Muddle Lemons: Using a muddler or similar tool, press and twist the lemon quarters to release as much juice as possible into the container.
- Add Sugar: Pour the granulated sugar over the muddled lemons and gently shake the container to begin dissolving the sugar in the lemon juice.
- Add Ice and Water: Fill the container about three-quarters full with ice, then pour in 1 ½ cups of water.
- Shake Mixture: Secure the lid on the container before making a hole. Shake vigorously to thoroughly combine the lemon juice, sugar, ice, and water.
- Create Drinking Hole: Puncture a hole of approximately 5/16 inch in the lid using a hole punch or your preferred method, insert a straw, and enjoy your homemade State Fair Lemonade!
Notes
- For a less sweet lemonade, reduce sugar to 2 tablespoons.
- Use fresh lemons for the best flavor; bottled lemon juice will alter the taste.
- Adjust the amount of water and ice depending on your desired dilution and temperature.
- Serve immediately for the freshest taste and a cold beverage.
