Ingredients
Lemonade Base
- 1¾ cups fresh squeezed lemon juice (from 8-12 lemons), strained
- 5 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
Raspberry Purée
- ½ pound (8 oz.) raspberries, plus extra for serving
Garnishes
- Lemon wedges, for serving
- Fresh mint, for serving
Instructions
- Purée Raspberries: Combine the raspberries and ½ cup of the lemon juice in a blender. Purée until smooth, then pour the mixture through a fine sieve into a large bowl to strain out the seeds. Use a ladle pressed against the strainer in a circular motion to help push the purée through quickly.
- Mix Lemonade: Add the remaining lemon juice, water, and sugar to the bowl with the raspberry purée. Stir well until the sugar is completely dissolved. Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar, lemon juice, or water as desired, keeping in mind that ice cubes will dilute the flavor.
- Serve: Pour the lemonade into glasses filled with ice cubes. Garnish with additional lemon wedges, raspberries, and fresh mint leaves if desired.
- Store: Refrigerate any leftover lemonade. It will keep well for a few days, allowing the flavors to meld even further.
Notes
- Adjust sweetness to your preference, especially if using sweeter or more tart lemons.
- For a stronger raspberry flavor, use more raspberries or reduce the water slightly.
- Use fresh mint and lemon wedges as garnishes to enhance presentation and aroma.
- Ensure lemons are thoroughly strained to avoid pulp and seeds in the final drink.
- This lemonade is best served chilled over plenty of ice for maximum refreshment.
