Description

A quick and flavorful one-pan dumpling recipe perfect for a 15-minute dinner. This dish combines savory dumplings with a spicy red curry soy sauce, tender bok choy, and aromatic garnishes for an easy, comforting meal.

Ingredients

Sauce Ingredients

  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp ginger (fresh grated or powdered)
  • 2 tbsp red curry paste
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup coconut cream

Main Ingredients

  • 16 oz dumplings (packaged, your favorite kind)
  • 2 cups bok choy (chopped)

Garnishes

  • Scallions (chopped)
  • Cilantro (chopped)
  • Chili oil (such as Momofuku chili crunch)
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce: In a 9x9 inch baking dish, combine the minced garlic, soy sauce, ginger, red curry paste, toasted sesame oil, rice vinegar, water, and coconut cream. Stir well to blend all ingredients evenly.
  2. Add bok choy and dumplings: Roughly chop the bok choy and add it to the baking dish with the prepared sauce. Then place the packaged dumplings evenly on top, making sure they are partly submerged in the sauce.
  3. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cover the baking dish with foil or a lid to trap steam and bake for 15 minutes. This will cook the dumplings through while steaming the bok choy and infusing all flavors together.
  4. Garnish and serve: Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped scallions, cilantro, chili oil, and sesame seeds for added aroma, heat, and texture. Serve immediately and enjoy your quick one-pan meal!

Notes

  • You can use frozen or fresh dumplings, but adjust baking time slightly if using fresh to ensure they are fully cooked.
  • If you want extra heat, add more chili oil or a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes.
  • This recipe can be made vegetarian or vegan by choosing vegetable-based dumplings and ensuring the sauce ingredients are vegan-friendly.
  • Leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
  • For gluten-free, select gluten-free dumplings and soy sauce substitutes.
