Ingredients
For the Lamb Burgers
- 1 tbsp Olive oil (plus 1 tbsp more for frying if cooking on the stove)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 tbsp Fresh dill (chopped)
- 1 tbsp Fresh mint (chopped)
- 1 tbsp Fresh parsley (chopped)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp Sea salt
- 1/4 tsp Black pepper
- 1 lb Ground lamb
Instructions
- Mix Herbs and Seasonings: In a large bowl, stir together 1 tablespoon of olive oil with the Dijon mustard (if using), chopped dill, mint, parsley, minced garlic, sea salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Add Ground Lamb: Add the ground lamb to the herb mixture and gently mix with your hands just until everything is incorporated. Be careful not to overmix to keep the burgers tender.
- Form Patties: Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal patties, each about 1/2 inch thick. Make a thumbprint indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from bulging during cooking.
- Preheat Cooking Surface: Preheat an outdoor grill or heat a cast iron skillet on the stovetop over medium-high heat. If using the skillet, add an additional tablespoon of olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Burgers: Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes until the bottoms are browned and the juices on top are no longer red. Do not press down on the patties or move them around during this time to allow proper searing.
- Flip and Finish Cooking: Flip the burgers and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes for medium doneness or longer if desired. Using a meat thermometer is recommended to check for the ideal temperature (medium is about 160°F).
- Rest and Serve: Remove the cooked lamb burgers from heat and let them rest for a few minutes to redistribute the juices before serving.
Notes
- For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure perfect doneness.
- Make sure not to overmix the meat to keep the burgers juicy and tender.
- The thumbprint in the center of each patty helps the burgers cook evenly and prevents them from puffing up.
- If you prefer, these burgers can be cooked on a grill or stovetop skillet based on your convenience.
- Serve with your favorite buns, lettuce, tomato, and sauces for a complete meal.
