Description
This quick and flavorful Ground Beef and Eggs recipe combines spiced ground beef with softly cooked eggs, making a delicious and satisfying meal perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light dinner. Infused with aromatic spices like 7 spice blend, cinnamon, and paprika, this dish is garnished with fresh parsley and traditionally served with Lebanese pita bread for a delightful Middle Eastern touch.
Ingredients
Meat and Eggs
- ¼ pound lean ground beef
- 8 large eggs
Spices and Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon 7 spice blend
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Others
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley (for serving)
- Lebanese pita bread (for serving)
Instructions
- Heat the oil and garlic: Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant but not browned to release its aroma.
- Cook spiced ground beef: Add ¼ pound lean ground beef to the skillet along with 1 teaspoon 7 spice blend, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, ½ teaspoon paprika, ½ teaspoon salt, and ½ teaspoon black pepper. Cook the beef mixture for about 3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully browned and the spices are well incorporated.
- Add and cook eggs: Crack all 8 eggs directly on top of the cooked beef in the skillet. Reduce heat to medium and gently use a spatula to lightly fold the eggs into the beef mixture, stirring occasionally but leaving some texture intact. Cook until the eggs are just about set but still a little runny, approximately 5 minutes. Take care not to overmix so that the eggs and beef remain somewhat separate.
- Serve: Transfer the beef and eggs mixture carefully to a wide, round serving dish. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped parsley evenly over the top for freshness and color. Serve immediately alongside Lebanese pita bread for scooping and enjoying.
Notes
- You can adjust the spice level by modifying the amount of 7 spice blend or adding chili flakes for heat.
- Using lean ground beef helps keep this dish lower in fat but still flavorful.
- For a dairy-free version, avoid adding any cheese or cream, as this recipe does not include them.
- Serve with fresh pita or flatbread to soak up the delicious juices.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated gently on the stovetop.
