Description
A refreshing and vibrant Strawberry Lemonade recipe combining fresh strawberries, tangy lemon juice, and sweetness balanced with simple syrup, perfect for a cooling summer beverage.
Ingredients
Fruit
- 2 cups strawberries
- 2 cups lemon juice (about 10 lemons)
Sweetener and Liquid
- 2 cups sugar
- 7 cups water (divided)
Instructions
- Prepare Strawberries: Wash the strawberries thoroughly, remove their stems, and cut each into quarters to prepare them for blending.
- Make Strawberry Puree: Combine the quartered strawberries with 1 cup of water in a blender, and puree until smooth. Then, push the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove seeds and extra pulp. Set the sieved pureed strawberries aside.
- Juice Lemons: Cut the lemons in half and juice them until you have 2 cups of fresh lemon juice. Set this lemon juice aside.
- Prepare Simple Syrup: In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of sugar, 2 cups of water, and the juice from 6-8 lemon halves. Bring the mixture to a boil, then remove from heat and cover. Allow it to cool completely.
- Combine Ingredients: Once the simple syrup has cooled, pour the strawberry puree, the 2 cups of lemon juice, the cooled simple syrup, and 4 cups of remaining water into a large pitcher. Stir well to mix all flavors thoroughly.
- Serve: Garnish the strawberry lemonade with lemon slices and whole or halved strawberries as desired. Serve the lemonade chilled over ice for a refreshing drink.
Notes
- Adjust sugar amount according to your preferred sweetness.
- For an extra fruity flavor, add more strawberry puree or fresh lemon juice.
- Straining the strawberry puree removes seeds and ensures a smooth texture.
- Chill the lemonade before serving for best taste.
- Use fresh lemons for a more vibrant flavor compared to bottled lemon juice.
