Description

This Coffee Oreo Ice Cream recipe combines the rich flavors of espresso and crushed Oreo cookies to create a creamy, no-churn frozen dessert. Easy to make with just a few ingredients, it requires no ice cream maker and is perfect for coffee lovers looking for a sweet, indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Ice Cream Base

  • 1 ½ cups cold heavy cream
  • ⅔ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tablespoons espresso powder
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt

Mix-ins

  • 15 Oreo cookies, plus a few extra for topping

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: Place the Oreo cookies in a resealable plastic bag and use your hands or a rolling pin to crush them into small pieces, setting them aside for later mixing.
  2. Whip Cream: In a large bowl, pour the cold heavy cream and use an electric mixer to beat it until soft peaks form, which means the cream holds its shape but is still smooth.
  3. Combine Ingredients: Add the sweetened condensed milk, espresso powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the whipped cream. Beat again with the electric mixer for 1 to 2 minutes until everything is fully combined and smooth.
  4. Fold in Oreos: Using a spatula, gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies, mixing just enough to evenly distribute them without deflating the whipped cream.
  5. Freeze Mixture: Pour the ice cream mixture into a 9x5 inch loaf pan or another freezer-safe container. Optionally, place a few whole Oreo cookies on top for decoration.
  6. Freeze Until Firm: Place the container in the freezer and freeze for at least 6 hours or until the ice cream is firm enough to scoop and serve.

Notes

  • For best results, ensure the heavy cream is very cold before whipping.
  • Use freshly brewed espresso powder for a stronger coffee flavor or adjust to taste.
  • You can substitute Oreos with any chocolate sandwich cookies if preferred.
  • This recipe requires no ice cream maker, making it simple and convenient.
  • Allow the ice cream to sit at room temperature for 5 minutes before scooping to make serving easier.
