Description
This creamy and delicious Chocolate Protein Ice Cream is a healthy, high-protein dessert option that uses whey protein, cocoa powder, and natural sweeteners. Prepared with simple ingredients and made creamy and smooth using the Ninja Creami, this recipe is perfect for a guilt-free treat that provides muscle-building protein and rich chocolate flavor.
Ingredients
Ice Cream Base
- 1 cup 1% Fairlife milk
- ½ banana
- 2 scoops Naked Nutrition Grass-fed Whey Protein
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 5 drops stevia extract
- 1 tablespoon Besti Monk Fruit Erythritol Blend
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Optional Mix-in
- 1 tablespoon stevia-sweetened chocolate chips
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Add all of the ingredients, except for the chocolate chips, into a blender or a mason jar. Blend or shake vigorously until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
- Freeze the Base: Transfer the blended mixture into the Creami ice cream pint container and secure the lid. Place the pint in the freezer for 18-24 hours until fully frozen.
- Prepare for Creaming: After freezing, remove the pint from the freezer and take off the lid.
- Set Up Creami Holder: Insert the pint into the Ninja Creami pint holder securely.
- Attach Blade Lid: Place the blade inside the lid and then attach the lid onto the pint holder, locking it in place.
- Cream the Ice Cream: Lock the pint holder into the Ninja Creami machine. Select the 'ice cream' or 'soft serve' setting to process the base into creamy ice cream.
- Adjust Texture if Needed: If the texture is not creamy and appears dusty after the first spin, use the 'spin again' setting to improve creaminess.
- Add Mix-ins: Create a small hole in the ice cream and add the chocolate chips. Then select the 'mix-in' setting on the Creami to evenly incorporate the chips into the ice cream.
- Serve: Remove the finished ice cream pint from the machine and enjoy immediately.
Notes
- You can substitute the banana with another natural sweetener or omit if desired.
- If you don't have a Ninja Creami, freezing and blending with a high speed blender multiple times may work but will have different texture.
- The recipe is naturally low in sugar due to stevia and erythritol use.
- Make sure to fully freeze the base for 18-24 hours to get optimal texture when creaming.
- Optional mix-ins like nuts or berries can be added instead of chocolate chips.
