Description

Delight in the classic and elegant Chocolate-Dipped Strawberries, featuring fresh, juicy strawberries dipped in rich dark chocolate and finished with a decorative white chocolate drizzle. This simple yet indulgent treat is perfect for special occasions, romantic evenings, or a sweet everyday snack.

Ingredients

Strawberries

  • 1 pint fresh strawberries (about 1 pound)

Dark Chocolate Coating

  • 2 cups dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (12 ounces)

White Chocolate Drizzle (Optional)

  • 1/2 cup chopped white chocolate (3 ounces)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries: Rinse 1 pint of fresh strawberries under cool running water. Gently pat them dry with a paper towel, making sure they are completely dry. Spread them out on a towel or plate and let air-dry if necessary to ensure the chocolate adheres properly.
  2. Melt the Dark Chocolate: Fill the bottom of a double boiler or medium saucepan with one to two inches of water and bring it to a simmer over medium-high heat. Place 2 cups of dark chocolate chips or chopped chocolate in the top part of the double boiler or in a heatproof bowl set over the simmering water. Stir occasionally until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth, then remove from heat.
  3. Dip the Strawberries: Holding each strawberry by the top leaves, dip it into the melted dark chocolate, turning or swirling as needed to coat it completely. Lift the strawberry and gently shake off any excess chocolate. Lay the dipped strawberry on its side on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Repeat with the rest of the strawberries.
  4. Set the Chocolate Coating: Let the chocolate-coated strawberries sit at room temperature until the chocolate sets and is dry to the touch. To speed this process, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.
  5. Melt the White Chocolate: Melt 1/2 cup chopped white chocolate using the same double boiler method or by microwaving in 15-second bursts, stirring between each burst until smooth.
  6. Drizzle the White Chocolate: Transfer the melted white chocolate to a small ziplock bag. Push the chocolate to one corner and snip a tiny piece off the tip. Gently squeeze and drizzle the white chocolate over the dark chocolate-coated strawberries using sweeping motions for a decorative finish.
  7. Final Setting: Allow the white chocolate drizzle to set at room temperature or place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for a few minutes to firm up. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing or sliding off.
  • Use good quality dark and white chocolate for best flavor and smooth texture.
  • You can substitute milk chocolate instead of dark chocolate if preferred.
  • Store dipped strawberries in the refrigerator and consume within 1-2 days for optimal freshness.
  • For easy cleanup, line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
