Ingredients
Chicken Mixture
- 2 cups chopped, cooked chicken
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened (½ of one block)
- ¼ cup grated or shredded Parmesan cheese
- ¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Other Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1 16 oz jar Alfredo sauce
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the casserole.
- Prepare the baking dish: Spray a 13×9-inch pan or a 2-quart casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Make the chicken mixture: In a bowl, combine the chopped cooked chicken, garlic powder, softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, and ¾ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Assemble crescent roll-ups: Separate the refrigerated crescent rolls into 8 individual triangles. Place a generous scoop of the chicken mixture onto the widest part of each triangle, then carefully roll them up and place each roll-up seam side down into the prepared baking pan.
- Add Alfredo sauce and cheese topping: Pour the entire jar of Alfredo sauce evenly over the assembled crescent rolls. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of shredded mozzarella cheese on top to create a golden, cheesy crust.
- Bake the casserole: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and cooked through.
- Rest before serving: Remove the casserole from the oven and let it stand for 5 minutes to set before serving warm.
Notes
- You can substitute cooked rotisserie chicken or leftover chicken for convenience.
- For added flavor, consider sprinkling some Italian seasoning or red pepper flakes into the chicken mixture.
- If preferred, fresh mozzarella can be used instead of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened for easy mixing.
- This dish pairs well with a fresh green salad or steamed vegetables.
